Volunteer
Get to know your neighbors and have fun working on projects benefiting the neighborhood. No matter your skills or time available we have an important job for you. Some groups meet regularly and others get together informally when there is a specific need.
Volunteer for Our Tours
Our house tours attract people as far as New York, Ohio and West Virginia, but they require the entire neighborhood to turn out to make them great. Volunteering your house for the tour is just one way to get involved.
The day of the tour we need tour guides (over 60 of them for the weekend!), greeters at the houses, the church and the train museum, folks to make food for the tours and for the volunteers, people dedicated to lighting the walkways and directing traffic, even musicians.
Out of town the day of the tour? We need help with the mailings (over 3000 postcards are sent out); assistance making and hanging wreathes and other decorations in the neighborhood, creating the tour booklets & mailings, working with press, and setting up parking, security & permits.
Volunteering is also your ticket to the best party of the year…the after-tour parties are legendary.
