Have you ever wondered about what it would take to get your house or commercial building listed on the National Register of Historic Places? Do you know the requirements and implications of a City-designated Historic Landmark? Are you a member of a community group that is interested in designating your neighborhood as an historic district? And what’s with the Historic Landmark Plaque you see on so many buildings, bridges, and landmarks?

If you have ever wondered about any of these questions and have an interest in learning more about historic these designations and their implications, from the federal to state, and local levels, then then join us at the Landmarks Preservation Resource Center for a comprehensive lecture on National Register and Local Historic Designations.

This lecture will include presentations by experts who will discuss what these designations mean, the advantages and distinctions of each, and the process of nominating buildings and neighborhoods for listing on the National Register of Historic Places or City of Pittsburgh- designation of historic buildings and districts.

This lecture is free and open to the public.
