This Saturday, September 8th, will be a “perfect storm” of Allegheny West impacts from overlapping events in the North Shore that day. Earlier-than-usual traffic and parking, and widespread tailgating, are expected throughout the neighborhood.

A Pirates game at 1:05 pm will fill all of the North Shore parking lots for the afternoon, at the same time as the Pitt/Penn State game (8:00 pm kickoff) would normally see thousands of tailgaters descend on those same lots for the entire day. The North Shore lots will be closed to football parking until 5:30 pm.

As Pitt/Penn State is one of the biggest Heinz Field events of the season, it’s anticipated that the early traffic, parking, and tailgating will all shift into the neighborhoods. As you consider your plans for Saturday, be sure to take this into account!
