Patricia Engel & Adriana E Ramírez

Thursday, March 16th
8:00 pm

Aster(ix) Event
Two authors writing some of the best prose about immigrant life in America—timely and vital.

Since publishing her first novel in 2010, Patricia Engel’s writing has earned her a New York Time Notable Book of the Year, a Best Book of the Year by the San Francisco Chronicle, the International Latino Book Award and many others. She has been translated into many languages and writes gorgous, gorgeous prose.

Adriana E. Ramírez — one of the founders of Aster(ix) — is a Mexican-Colombian nonfiction writer, storyteller, digital maker, and performance poet based in Pittsburgh, where she is writing a book the way we tell stories around violence.  And she knows how to deliver a punch — she was a nationally ranked slam poet who reads with gusto.

This program will be moderated by Angie Cruz, the founder and editor of Aster(ix), who also curated this program. Each writer will read excerpts of her work and take questions from the audience.
